Jerusalem in the End of Days
On October 7th, on the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, Israel was suddenly attacked by Hamas, and our reality changed in a moment. The war still continues to this day, and is shifting the conflict to the northern front at the time of this new book announcement.
About one week into this war, the Lord commissioned me to write this book. It was not something I had planned or hoped for, but I knew He would fill me with all that I would need to write this weighty book, full of history, biblical connections, past, present and future wars, and the enduring efficacy of the Lord’s prophetic purposes and destiny for Jerusalem.
But you shall seek the place where the Lord your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go. There you shall take your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes…and the firstborn of your herds and flocks. (Deut.12:2-6).
Almost 4,000 years ago, the Lord directed His friend Abraham to journey to a particular mountain. On this rugged stage, the Lord commanded Abraham to offer up his son, Isaac, the promised ancestor of Abraham’s covenantal seed. But the Lord provided a ram to die in Isaac’s place. In this same mountain, another eternally significant sacrifice was made: the substitutionary atonement of the Lord Yeshua, the Lamb who took our place on the altar of love.
This book unfolds the windswept, tear-stained history of Jerusalem’s centrality in the Lord’s plan of salvation. It also unfolds the sorrowful and cruel events of past centuries and years still ahead. But in the fullness of time, the Messiah will march in His indignation and zeal for the beloved mountain of the Lord. In His fiery jealousy, He will rescue Jerusalem from those who hate her, and He will take up His rightful throne, as the greater David.
He has chosen Jerusalem, yet the nations have raged against her with unrelenting and prideful aspirations of conquest. To the day of this writing, political schemes and violent onslaughts against her peace, continues.
Here, we will unfold the purposes and destiny of humble Jerusalem, illuminated by golden sun and living stones. We will follow her into the future: her sorrows, battles, captivities and deliverances. For the Law will go forth from Zion, and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
